Jade first appears in MKII as a non-playable hidden character who appears on screen with clues on how to locate her. She was a green palette swap of Kitana (with darker skin) and she did not become playable until Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
in which her backstory was as a fellow Edenian and childhood friend of
Kitana. She once served as Shao Kahn's personal assassin along with
Kitana and Mileena. During Shao Kahn's invasion, Jade was ordered by
Kahn to capture Kitana but turned against him to side with her friend
and the Earth warriors. Sometime after MK: Deadly Alliance, she witnesses the resurrection and capture of Kitana and her allies by Onaga, under an enslaving spell. In MK: Deception,
Jade rescues Sindel from prison in Edenia. She and Sindel escape to
Outworld, but Jade attempts to seek justice against homeland traitor
Tanya. In the game's Konquest mode she appaears in the Living Forest as
having lost a battle with Shujinko over an unknown object he requires,
but she is later unable to recognize him because he has since aged
considerably. She orders Shujinko to bring Rain to her, paying him when
he obliges, and kills Rain. and is also a jerk to all men .
Jade was portrayed by Katalin Zamiar in MKII, with Becky Gable replacing her in the role thereafter in UMK3 and MKT. She also appeared in the film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and was played by Buryatian Irina Pantaeva. model

"Jade all seem to fetishize Eastern culture. ... She is paradox: equal
parts exotic slave girl and Asian princess, her most powerful weapon
being her sexuality. She's the mystical, foreign black widow, a relic of
post-war pulp novels."^[2]
