Baraka

In Mortal Kombat II, Baraka (portrayed by Richard Divizio)
is the leader of the fictional horde known as the Tarkatan working for
Shao Kahn and is responsible for leading the attack against Liu Kang's
Shaolin temples. He helps Kahn in making Earthrealm come to Outworld in
order to start a tournament against them, but they would later be
defeated. During Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Baraka has no affiliation but by Mortal Kombat Gold,
he joins forces with the sorcerer Quan Chi and the army of Shinnok to
conquer Edenia, but they are defeated by Earthrealm warriors. At the
time of MK: Deception, Baraka allies with the risen Dragon King
(Onaga), in whose strength he has great faith. Freeing Mileena from her
prison, Baraka recruits her to Onaga's ranks. In his MK: Armageddon
ending, Baraka gains great power after defeating Blaze. After killing
his former masters, he takes Mileena as his queen. Baraka also appears
as a boss in Shaolin Monks which retells the story from MK II. In Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Baraka supports the Mortal Kombat Universe.
Baraka also appeared in the 1997 film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation played by Dennis Keiffer. Lateef Crowder played Baraka in Mortal Kombat: Rebirth
in which his real name is Dr. Alan Zane - a plastic surgeon who later
pierced his face, sharpened his teeth, and surgically attached a pair of
10 inch metal blades to his forearms after killing his patients and
fights and kills Johnny Cage in Cage's apartment.
Baraka's "Lift'em-up" Fatality in Mortal Kombat Trilogy was given the 3rd place The "That's Gotta Hurt" Award (Nintendo Power Awards '96).[1
